Decades of Experience

I am a third-generation Boston lawyer who learned the basics of practicing law from my father, grandfather, and several other lawyer relatives. My mother was a college English professor and my grandmother a H.S. English teacher and, therefore, from an early age I was instilled with the importance of becoming a skilled writer, which I continuously work to hone and improve.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 30 years since I graduated from law school as I feel like I am constantly learning and developing as a lawyer and just “becoming worth my salt” but, in that time, I have developed certain principles that I try to live by in my practice. These include that, in order to be an effective representative and advocate, I strive to always be meticulous, compassionate, straightforward, and honest. I believe there is no substitute for hard work, yet I also try to always maintain a sense of humor and humility in the practice of law (as well as in life).

A Family Man

On a more personal note, I live in the greater Boston area with my wife, Lisa, who works in real estate development and financing, and our dog, Rosie, who is a professional food beggar. I also have two adult children, Jacob, who is a software engineer in Berlin, Germany (and who created this website for me), and Eva, who works as a senior lab technician for the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority. I am a big Boston sports fan and am just as happy to discuss sports (at no charge) as I am to discuss a complex legal matter.
